Pertamina Energy Tower

The oil company of PT Pertamina's (Persero) vision is to be a world class energy company and Asia Energy Champion by the year 2025. With such an ambitious projection into the near future, it is only natural that they would want an iconic building that can best represent their status and corporate branding. Hence they play to build what would be the tallest building in Indonesia with their proposed Pertamina Energy Tower. The proposed building will have 80 floors with a total height of 430 meters. The only problem now is that the local regulations only allow for a maximum of 220 meters for tall buildings. They will need to have some serious connection with the political figures such as President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono to turn their dream into reality.

In terms of design, the tower's form reminiscent an elongated clam rising up to the sky with its mouth pointing up. The curvature of the building gently rises upwards and terminate at the peak with the curve tapered inwards. The outline of the building is serene and beautiful and it stay away from the conventional boxy tall buildings that we normally see. If it ever be built; it will surely enhance the skyline of the Indonesian capital city of Jakarta.
